SAVANNAH, Ga., October 8, 2010 - Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. has named Robert Glasscock and Mitchell Cannon program administrators within the company’s Organizational Designation Authorization (ODA) office. Glasscock and Cannon report to Robert Nilson and Kip Wiltse, Enterprise ODA administrators, respectively.
The ODA designation, which Gulfstream earned in March 2008, allows the business-jet manufacturer to act on behalf of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to examine Gulfstream aircraft designs, production quality, parts approval, repairs/alterations and airworthiness. Gulfstream was the first aircraft manufacturer to earn this authorization level.
Glasscock manages ODA type certification (TC) activities associated with Research and Development (R&D), while Cannon manages the supplemental type certificates (STCs) and major repair and alterations (MRA) supporting Savannah Final Phase operations.
Previously, Glasscock was the Gulfstream G650 Certification Product Development team lead. He joined Gulfstream’s Airworthiness and Certification organization in April 2006 after spending more than two years with the FAA Aircraft Certification office in Denver. He has also worked for Piper Aircraft, Bombardier Learjet, Lockheed Martin and Hawker Beechcraft.
Glasscock earned an aeronautical engineering degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
Cannon has been assigned to Gulfstream Savannah’s Final Phase ODA department since November 2009. Before joining Gulfstream, he spent 10 years with Piper Aircraft. He has also worked for Nordham Group, Sino Swearingen Aircraft, Cessna Aircraft, Aircraft Conversions LLC and Square D Co.
Cannon has a bachelor’s degree in aerospace technology from Middle Tennessee State University and a master’s degree in aviation systems from the University of Tennessee.
