GULFSTREAM G450 AND G350 IN-SERVICE FLEET SURPASSES 100,000 FLIGHT HOURS
G450 and G350 Operators Also Top 50,000 Takeoffs and Landings
SAVANNAH, Ga., September 16, 2008 – The large-cabin, long-range Gulfstream G450 and the large-cabin, mid-range G350 business-jet fleet recently surpassed 100,000 flight hours, achieving the milestone less than four years after the first G450 entered service on May 7, 2005.
The fleet leader accounted for more than 2,600 of those hours, while more than 115 additional G450 and G350 aircraft in service around the world contributed the remainder. The in-service G450/G350 fleet has a 12-month dispatch reliability rate of 99.85 percent.
The G450 was officially introduced during the National Business Aviation Association’s (NBAA) annual meeting on Oct. 6, 2003, while its sister ship, the G350, was announced less than six months later, on Feb. 23, 2004, during the Singapore Air Show.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued a Type Certificate (TC) for the G450 on Aug. 12, 2004. The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) validated that certificate on Nov. 19, 2004.
The G450 established its first intercontinental speed record 10 days after it entered service, flying 3,550 nautical miles from Chicago to London in seven hours and 19 minutes, at an average speed of Mach 0.85.
The G350 received its TC from the FAA on Nov. 1, 2004. EASA validated that certificate on March 30, 2005. The G350 entered service a short time later, on June 30, 2005.
