GULFSTREAM FLEET ON DISPLAY AT EBACE 2002
The Gulfstream Fleet is Capable of Meeting All of Europe's Business Travel Needs
Geneva, Switzerland, May 27, 2002 - Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation's expanded fleet, comprising the Gulfstream 100, the Gulfstream 200, the Gulfstream IV-SP and the Gulfstream V, will be on display at EBACE 2002, being held in Geneva, May 28 through 30, 2002. It marks the first time the entire fleet will be on display in Europe.
"EBACE 2002 is an ideal location for Gulfstream to showcase its entire fleet in Europe for the first time," said Bill Boisture, president, Gulfstream Aerospace. "The mid-size Gulfstream 100, with its short runway capability so important in Europe, and its high speed, is ideally suited for long and short distance flights, with a maximum range of 2,950 nautical miles at speeds in excess of Mach 0.80. The Gulfstream 200 is the only super
mid-size aircraft in operation today and flies nonstop from Geneva to Gander, Newfoundland, or Berlin to Delhi," continued Boisture.
"Gulfstream's technological advances, especially with quieter and lower emission engines, coupled with the ever increasing time required for door-to-door trips when using commercial flights, provide persuasive reasons to seriously consider the case for business jet aircraft," said Boisture.
The Gulfstream V is the world's most technologically advanced intercontinental business jet aircraft. Capable of flying 6,500 nautical miles at speeds up to Mach .885 with eight passengers and a crew of four, the Gulfstream V cruises at altitudes up to 51,000 feet, routinely outperforming the nearest competition.
"Advances in technology, combined with improvements in our manufacturing and quality control, have also resulted in the GV achieving a dispatch reliability rate in excess of 99% while the GIV-SP offers impressive and unprecedented dispatch reliability greater than 99.6 percent," said Boisture.
The soon-to-be-available Gulfstream V-SP will provide a range of 6,750 nautical miles, a 250-mile improvement over the current GV. The range improvement provides extra margin not only on ultra-long range flights, but also on shorter-range, higher-speed routes. The GV-SP will be capable of flying 5,000 nautical mile trips at a rapid .87 Mach, a
400-mile advantage, and 6,000 nautical mile legs at .85 Mach, a 300-mile enhancement. Performance improvements are the result of greater efficiency of the Rolls-Royce BR-710 engines, airframe drag reduction and a reduction in the aircraft's empty weight.
The Gulfstream V-SP will provide additional improvements in cabin and baggage volume, in takeoff performance as well as state-of-the-art technology incorporated in its exclusive PlaneView™ cockpit. The first customer delivery is scheduled in 2003.
"The improved takeoff performance makes the GV-SP even more suitable for shorter runways," said Boisture. "The technological advancements of our exclusive PlaneViewtm cockpit include safety enhancements such as the Gulfstream Enhanced Vision System, which is standard on this aircraft."
The Gulfstream IV-SP is the world's best-selling, most reliable and comfortable long range, large-cabin business jet aircraft. The GIV-SP travels 4,220 nautical miles non-stop at speeds up to Mach 0.88 and can cruise at altitudes up to 45,000 feet, well above commercial traffic. Since the aircraft entered service in 1985, the Gulfstream IV-SP fleet has completed over 1.6 million flight hours.
The Gulfstream 200 is the pioneer of the super mid-size category and possesses excellent balance performance for high speed and long range travel. It has a proven intercontinental range of 3,600 miles at speeds of up to Mach.82 and can cruise at altitudes up to 45,000 feet. From a comfort perspective, the Gulfstream 200 has the largest cabin volume in the super mid-size business jet category. The Gulfstream 200 won some 50 firm orders and 50 options within only six months of joining the Gulfstream fleet.
The Gulfstream 100 offers the unprecedented combination of speed and range and is the best performing mid-size business jet aircraft built. It has a 2,950 nautical mile range and performs at speeds up to Mach .84 and a cruising altitude up to 45,000 feet.
